 Abstract

Customer satisfaction and customer retention is an ultimate objective of every organization in service sector as well as in other sectors. To reduce customer churn, customer satisfaction plays a vital role. Customers classified on the basis of their gender, occupation, income, age group etc. carry a different perspective towards the same organization. The present research was carried out to explore the customer satisfaction towards the public sector Insurer, Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC). To carry out the research moderating effect of various demographic factors was taken into consideration. Significant difference was observed in the Customer satisfaction of LIC on the basis of gender and profession. However there was insignificant difference in customer satisfaction on the basis of age, household income and marital status was found. The present study is aimed to reveal the level of customer satisfaction on the basis of demographic variables.

Abstract: English has to play an important role as an associate official language; as an associate medium of higher education; as a library language; and so on. In the present age of globalization, English is the only lingua-franca for the entire world. In Countries like India, a mere knowledge of English is regarded as an index of educatedness. Of late, people go on International Tours and participate in International Seminars and Conferences than ever before. After completion of their Graduation / Post Graduation in their respective subjects, most of the Indians are very much eager to go abroad to make more money or attain much fame. But, we see many people who went abroad with high spirits and great expectations, are coming back within a short period of time instead of settling down there. There is a wide gap between the levels of competence in English required by the people going abroad with an aim of settling down there and the one that they actually possess in terms of communication. Non-native speakers of English may not understand the accent of the native speakers of English. Of course, this problem is vice versa. In English there exists no single form of pronunciation. The letters in English Alphabet do not always indicate the same sounds in pronunciation. The 26 letters of English Alphabet do not always indicate the same sounds in pronunciation. English spelling does not always indicate how an English word should be pronounced. There is no one-to-one correspondence between the letters of English Alphabet and the sounds in English. The letters in English Alphabet are inadequate to represent the pronunciation of English words unambiguously.

Abstract: For every human being clean drinking water, sanitation and healthy hygiene practices are important to maintain healthy life. In many countries around the world, especially underdeveloped and developing countries, access to safe drinking water and hygiene sanitation facilities are not satisfactory till now. Health and hygiene status of a population group is one important indicator of human development. It is largely depends upon the physical quality of environment of a region. In this paper an attempt has been made to analyze the status of water supply, sanitation and hygiene practices among the peoples under Dergaon Municipality Board of Golaghat District of Assam.
