There are around 0.7 Mn transgender people in India. Sexuality is a topic that has polarised society. In our society, sexual minorities have been mistreated because they are aberrant. It has been determined that their existence is unnatural. As a result, concerns with female rights, as well as their health problems, do not appear on the top agendas of governments and human rights organisations. Trans persons face significant health inequities and impediments to proper health care services around the world, preventing them from achieving the best potential health. Trans persons are more prone than the general population to be targeted for assault and harassment, to get HIV, and to be at risk for mental health issues like despair and attempted suicide, among other things. Discriminatory treatment by health care providers, a lack of providers who are trained to provide appropriate health care to trans people, and the refusal of many national health systems and health insurance programmes to cover services for trans people are all barriers to health care for trans people. This research paper focuses on transgender health and status in India, as well as approach to meet their healthcare needs. The right to access Healthcare is fundamental human right but when it comes to Transgender, Is it true? Transgenders are still deprived of accessing healthcare. A team of students from IIHMR-B lead by a faculty staff tried to explore option and a way to extend healthcare access where there is gender and health disparities lies everywhere.
