Sri Lanka has been a developing country for many years. Since its independence from British colonialism. Thirty years of war between the Sri Lankan government and the LTTE organizations dealt a severe blow to Sri Lanka's economy. The economic development of a country is determined by the food security of a country. It is right to food. At a time when Sri Lanka, which was affected by Covid-19, which is a hot spring, is still facing an economic crisis, the economy began to collapse due to the overnight carbonization of rice farming in Sri Lanka. That huge collapse led Sri Lanka to food insecurity. Food insecurity is the condition of not having access to sufficient food, or food an adequate quality, to meet one's basic needs. From the unborn fetus to the elderly, Sri Lanka has become a victim of food insecurity. This had a great influence on the Sri Lankan school community. The future generation of the country is the student community of Sri Lanka. The Polonnaruwa District was one of the most important lifelong strategies for farming. The school community in that district became a sure victim of food insecurity. This study is about the worsening food insecurity in Sri Lanka. (A study based on school children in Polonnaruwa district) The overall objective is to investigate whether there is worsening food insecurity in Sri Lanka or not. The researcher used some interviews and discussions as qualitative data and the questionnaire as quantitative data and also expect to use both primary and secondary data for this research. Primary grade teachers (grade 1 to grade 5 teachers) represent three schools in the Polonnaruwa district including Thamankaduva Division, Dimbulagala Division, and Welikanda Division. Finally, the researcher shows the findings of this research are regarding to the wider study that it is clear that insecurity can be seen in Sri Lanka and its negative impact affects the school community physically, mentally, and in other ways. It appears to be the main cause of creating various social problems in the future.
